Chet Guillot (Chief Engineer-Operations Director)
Since 1974, Chet Guillot has always been a big part of broadcast television. Chet spent nearly 10 years on the road as an Uplink Operator covering Breaking News, Weather, and Major Sporting Events. Because of his dedication to excellence, in 1993, he was given the opportunity to be a major part of the launch of NewsChannel 8, a 24- hour News cable station in Washington, D.C. as their Engineering Manager. This cutting edge network covered breaking news vital to Virginia, Maryland, and D.C. to the cable systems serving those areas.
In 1995, Chet was offered the position of Chief Engineer of a Top NBC affiliate in New Orleans who had heard of his Engineering expertise in building new TV stations. This nearly 50-year-old TV station was relocating to a state-of-the-art building and needed someone with a Broadcast Engineering background to manage the project. Accepting the position, Chet moved his wife, son, and daughter to New Orleans. Besides being responsible for the day-to-day operations, he was given the enormous task of relocation of the entire operation from their old Royal Street location to a brand new facility nearby on Howard Avenue.
This challenge involved the design and implementation of all microwave and TV transmitter systems, as well as integration of all Audio/Video, studio, lighting and camera systems. Management of all Satellite and ENG trucks as well as the station electronic techs and operators were under his leadership. As further example of his dedication to his craft, Chet also stayed during and after the Katrina flood of 2005 to keep the station operational.
Furthering his career, Mr. Guillot has now taken on the role of Partner/Operations/Engineering Director of the SatCom Division of The Satellite Center, a 22-year-old New Orleans Communications Company. Chet is an energetic and highly technical individual who is dedicated to making anything he is involved with a total success.
